Description

The Thomastik-Infeld Plectrum Bronze AC112 is a premium acoustic guitar string set designed for players seeking a warm, soft, balanced tone with exceptionally comfortable playability. The Plectrum series offers a distinctive alternative to conventional acoustic guitar strings, combining the warmth of bronze with a smooth response reminiscent of fine jazz guitar strings.

The AC112 features a hybrid construction with a round-wound low E string and flat-wound A, D, and G strings, combined with silk inlays. This construction helps control unwanted odd-order harmonics and provides precise overtone balance, producing a refined, almost classical tonal character.

With its low and evenly balanced tension, the Plectrum AC112 is also an excellent option for vintage and older acoustic guitars, particularly instruments with weaker bracing or other age-related considerations. The reduced tension can help provide a comfortable playing feel while placing less stress on the instrument.

Huge sound!

These strings are amazing! I took a chance buying expensive strings, but holy f’n crap! They are waaayyyy worth it. My GS-mini already had a sound “bigger than it is”, but these strings make it sound even deeper and richer. The low E is 0.59 but it feels smooth and easy to play and gives a nice deep balanced low end. The other strings feel much lower tension than they actually are, without sacrificing tonal depth. I am so impressed I’m ordering a bunch more for my other guitars. I have tried many other string brands, types, and gauges, and the AC112 blows them out of the water.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

5 Star, no doubt. They sound fantastic and they last longer. Now the string weight that’s another issue. Having the low E be 59 is a bit difficult. After I put the fourth set on, and I knew I was committed I took my Guitar in for an intonation on the neck. The extra heavy string changed the set up on my guitar. They widened the nut slot for the low E. These are going to be the Strings I use on this guitar. Period. So the 59 is higher than usual, but the other strings are close to a traditional 54-12 set. If it’s the sound resonance you’re after, you will enjoy these Strings. I’ve used earth woods a lot, and Pearce. The price on those is much more practical but they don’t last. I have lots of DA XS etc. But these have an edge, phenomenal sound.

Perfect Except for One Thing…

I love these strings. They have a woody quality that has character, and doesn’t have the really bright tinny quality of just normal phosphor bronze strings. The feeling makes it easy to finger play as well. The ONLY thing I don’t like about them is the low E string seems way too boomy and bassy given the gauges of the other strings. It’s a .59, so also so thick my bridge pin can’t even stuff it down without popping out. With the .50 string from the 11 set, it is the most perfect and balanced acoustic guitar string set I’ve ever encountered. I would buy the 12s and the 11s but use the low E string .50 of that set:)

The best money can buy.

Most likely the best quality guitar strings for an acoustic money can buy. The tone and volume of the medium heavy gauge set are outstanding on a dreadnought guitar. In 30 years of professional playing, I haven’t found a better set of strings.

Worth the price

These strings have become my all time favorite for acoustic guitars. The price is steep, but I will continue using them for that beautiful dark tone.
