Dream to play.

I love this trem system. It gives the guitar I have it on the floating sound I was looking for without having to totally reroute it for a Floyd Rose or anything similar. Plus it's so touch sensitive is a dream to play with. Definitely worth the purchase.

Best trem unit I have ever used, and it’s not close!

I decided it was time to replace the rusty old trem/vibrato/whammy/whatever unit in my Strat instead of buying yet another screw-in tone bar. I wanted something with a push-in bar that wasn’t too shiny, so I got the matte version.

The “instructions” I received are lacking. You will want to watch a couple videos on YouTube to get some pointers and see some of the issues you may run into. Fortunately, everything was smooth for me and it dropped right in, about a 5 minute job. You do need to spend a good while setting the radius and intonation…overall it took about an hour to get everything dialed in.

Once it was dialed in: holy crap this thing RIPS. I always preferred the feel of a Jazzmaster style trem, and you can get that sort of dreamy smooth and subtle warble. But then you can also get the crazy Floyd Rose stuff, and everything in between. Plus it goes right back into tune!

I used to have my trem set for a full pull up on the bar = a full step on the G string so I will have to just build the muscle memory. Well worth it for this much flexibility and stability.

Buying my 3rd

Buying third one right now. It’s the only trem I use on Strat style guitars. Stability… I can toss a few dive bombs and am consistently surprised to how well it stays in tune. It takes getting crazy and doing multitudes of dives and pull backs consecutively to get knocked out, but the Floyd’s do that for me too. I’ve had one of my guitars sitting around for 6+ months because I put its Vega in a new Strat and I didn’t have a vegatrem available for it and unwilling to use a standard trem now. Tonight I’m buying my third so I can put it back together.
Also: you can route/dremel out some of the body by the fulcrum to allow for even deeper dives.

Vegatrem on The Outcaster

I've used vintage 6 screw, 2 point modern and Floyd Rose trems before, but this is the smoothest of any trem I have ever tried.
